Quilts are for walls, too. It is a delight for me to work with clients on special wall pieces that incorporate fabrics or embellishments with meaning.
In Japan, Maneki- Neko, ubiquitous “beckoning cats”, welcome customers, and bring commercial success to businesses with these lucky talismans placed in conspicuous spots. This quilted and beaded version hangs in the Pieceable Kingdom studio, and can be commissioned to bring luck to your enterprise as well.
And speaking of beads, I look for any excuse to work with them. This beaded crab was commissioned by a client who wanted to celebrate her zodiacal identity as a Cancer. Almost any symbol or image can be rendered in beaded embroidery on fabric.

I could not be happier with the wall quilt you created from my grandmother’s handkerchiefs. They were something that would have otherwise sat in a drawer or ended up in a box in the attic. I cannot remember my grandmother without one of her embroidered flowered handkerchiefs in her pocket. When my mom gave them to me I knew I wanted to do something special with them and having you create such a beautiful remembrance was the perfect answer. Thank you so very much.
